Something happens when you become a new mom. One day you’re going along your merry way feelin’ as fly as the sky…then all of a sudden *POOF* it’s not about you anymore. You trade your high heels for sneakers, your skinny jeans for leggings, and your makeup bag starts collecting dust.

Now don’t get me wrong, being a mom doesn’t mean you have to become a homebound-hobo. Still, you typically find yourself tossing out the “beauty is pain” philosophy and embracing what’s comfortable and easy.

In keeping with the “whatever’s easiest” lifestyle, as a new momma, your Coach purse has probably found a nice, comfy spot on the top shelf of your closet while your keys, lipgloss, wallet and cell phone now call the diaper bag “home.” So is that it? We’re just doomed not to accessorize for the next year or so? No more cute dangly earnings because Baby will pull them out? No more necklaces because Baby will rip them off? No more purses because why give yourself something else to carry…

Well today I found myself nursing Harley in the Nordstrom Women’s Lounge, surrounded by beautiful clothes, shoes, purses, and jewelry, wearing – like always – my black leggings, my Nikes, and rocking a backpack diaper bag off Amazon (I do love this diaper bag, btw. I even mention it in my Top 10 Baby Registry Must Haves post). Maybe it was the atmosphere, or maybe I was just feeling the need to love on myself a little bit, but I decided right then and there that I was finally going to order the diaper bag I had taken off my registry last year because it was “just too much.”

Up until now, I’ve had a philosophy about diaper bags: they should be cheap, stain resistant and disposable. I figured, why spend so much money on something that lugs around diapers and gets thrown around the backseat of your car and under your stroller? Well, now I see that a stylish diaper bag may just be your easiest – or only – way to accessorize! And almost seven months into motherhood, I’m ready to feel cute again!

And you know what? This Petunia Pickle Bottom City Carryall bag is made SO WELL. I know it’s going to last us a really long time. You can tell your hubby I said it’s worth the investment. 😉

If you’re months into being a momma, and you’re looking for a way to feel a little less like a pack mule, consider loving on yourself with a diaper bag that will give you your sass back. 😉 You’ve got this, momma! Rock it!
