Adding this personal touch to my guest room simply couldn’t have been easier. This is one of those projects that takes minimal time, effort or material but looks fairly impressive (my favorite kind!) 😉 .
What I Used:
- My embroidery machine
- Tear-away stabilizer (one piece for both pillowcases)
- Embroidery thread
- My existing guest room pillowcases
If your machine has design software built in, like the Babylock Destiny 2, you can come up with a phrase, choose a font, type it out in your machine, and you’re ready to rock!
It doesn’t get much easier than this!
- I hooped my pillowcase with the stabilizer, careful to grab just the top piece on the pillowcase opening.
- I chose a font and a phrase, typing it into my machine.
- I scanned my pillowcase while in the hoop as a reference for the word placement.
- I stitched it out!
Set your design with heat
Once you remove your pillowcase from the hoop, you’ll want to set your embroidery design with a wool pad and an iron.
If you’re careful when removing your design from the tearaway stabilizer, you can use the same pice for the second pillowcase.
One pillowcase down, and on to the next!
Flip your stabilizer so the unused side gets hooped under your next pillowcase, and repeat the basic steps above!
You can use the same phrase, or choose a second one, like I did.
And just like that, you’ve added a personal touch to your guest room!
I can’t wait to see your finished projects! Make sure to post a photo on Instagram and tag @mrs.parsons so I can applaud you. You can also get some kudos by posting to our Facebook page.
